A Chinese Company Interested in Durian Farming in Cambodia

Zhengzhou Shen’s Sun Group has expressed its interest to invest in Cambodia’s agricultural field, especially in durian farming and processing for export to China, which will contribute to creating jobs for the local people, increasing their incomes and improving their living standard.

The investment interest was revealed on Nov. 6 by Ms. Xuemei Chen, Chairwoman and Founder of Zhengzhou Shen’s Sun Group while paying a courtesy call on Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, during his stay in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China for a series of summits.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed the company’s interest and highlighting that Cambodia has the potential for a wide range of agricultural products that can be exported to overseas markets in a competitive manner.
On the same day, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also received Mr. Sun Zhongdi, Chairman of Zhongjiao Tongli Company, who shared his intention to expand his investment in the agricultural sector in the Cambodian northeastern provinces of Rattanakiri and Mondulkiri.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister informed his guest of the Royal Government of Cambodia’s incentive policy for investment in the country’s northeastern provinces, and called on the company to consider investing in other fields in addition to agriculture.

The Premier also encouraged the two Chinese firms to discuss in detail and collaborate with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions and local partners to transform their investment plan into tangible results in the near future.
