Analysts are confident that a key discussion of the 11th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP) in Phnom Penh will manage to build the synergy of governments, parliaments, and civil society for peace amid arising global conflicts.
The optimism was floated as Cambodia is set on welcoming delegations across the world for the 11th IPTP Plenary Session on Nov. 23-26 in Phnom Penh.
With mounting concern over armed conflicts in the Middle East and between Russia and Ukraine as well as political tension in countries, the analysts viewed that the IPTP plenary session will contribute to advancing the global architecture of peace, peacebuilding, reconciliation, and tolerance.
Cambodia has transformed itself from a war-torn country into a peaceful and prosperous society grounding on resilience and national unity, and the experience will be shared and drawn as lessons learned during the plenary session to achieve peace resolution.
More importantly, as underlined by the analysts, the session will serve as a platform for comprehensive dialogue and a coalition of governments, parliaments, and civil society to determine the urgent need for strengthening mechanisms that promote stability and mutual understanding for peace.
Under the main theme “A Quest for Peace, Reconciliation, and Tolerance”, the 11th IPTP Plenary Session will also include another key discussion on solidifying multilateralism, cooperation, and partnership for coexistence and inclusive connectivity.
