H.E. Tran Thanh Minh, Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) of Vietnam, will lead a high-level delegation to pay an official and friendly visit to Cambodia this week, at the invitation of Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the Cambodian NA.
The visit from Nov. 21 to 24 is aimed at strengthening and deepening parliamentary cooperation between the two countries in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks in line with the spirit of good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, sustainable cooperation in all areas, and comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation, with the interests of the two peoples and nations at the core, said an announcement of the General Secretariat of the Cambodian NA.
During the visit, it pointed out, H.E. Tran Thanh Minh will hold bilateral talks with Samdech Khuon Sudary. After that, both parliamentary leaders, together with other senior Cambodian-Vietnamese dignitaries, will preside over the inauguration ceremony of a new office building, a donation of Vietnam to the Cambodian NA.
H.E. Tran Thanh Minh will be received in a royal audience by His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, and pay separate courtesy calls on Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia; Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia; Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, Honorary President of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King; Samdech Kittisangahapundit Men Sam An, a Member of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King, President of the Cambodia-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group and President of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association, the same source added.
On this occasion, it continued, H.E. Tran Thanh Minh will deliver his remarks at the opening ceremony of the 12th General Assembly of International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) and at the opening ceremony of the 11th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP) to be hosted by Cambodia.
“The upcoming official and friendly visit of the high-level delegation of the Vietnamese NA is an important official visit to strengthen Cambodia-Vietnam cooperation, especially between the two NAs, and to elevate the level of cooperation between both the legislative and the executive bodies of the two countries,” underlined the announcement.
