Cambodia Promotes Exports to UK


Ministry of Commerce organised here at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre on Nov. 18 the 2024 Cambodia International Trade Exhibition to boost Cambodia’s exports to the United Kingdom and build business networks with British buyers.

The event was opened this morning by H.E. Mrs. CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, with the participation from many relevant stakeholders.

Addressing the remarks, H.E. Minister commended the Cambodia Women Entrepreneurs Network (CamWEN) and all stakeholders for their tireless efforts in making the event possible. The exposition aims at promoting the export of textiles, apparel, and footwear to the United Kingdom by not only showcasing but also establishing business networks on these products with the potential UK’s buyers.

H.E. Mrs. CHAM Nimul stated that Cambodia and the UK enjoy excellent and multifaceted relations, which are fortified by strong friendship and close cooperation, especially in the field of trade and investment. Last week, she recalled, the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia and the British Embassy in Cambodia organised the 2nd Joint Trade and Investment Forum in Phnom Penh with a shared purpose and joint commitment to bolster bilateral trade and address both current and future challenges with a clear vision on how to making business climate sustainable and favourable for private sectors.

H.E. Minister imparted the Ministry of Commerce initiatives to improve the business environment in Cambodia, related to trade facilitation, market diversification, promoting partnerships and dialogue, and rules and regulations.

In conclusion, Her Excellency Minister also informed that the Ministry of Commerce will be organising flagship annual exhibition – the “Cambodia Trade Exposition (CTE)” – from Dec. 13-16 at the PH Grand Hall in Phnom Penh.

The CTE aims to showcase the best of Cambodian-made products, high-quality import goods, as well as tailored services by local and international providers.
