The Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) has highly valued the long-standing contribution of the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) to Cambodia’s demining activities.
Senior Minister H.E. Ly Thuch, First Vice President of CMAA, highlighted the appreciation in a meeting with Mr. Hans Risser, Director of the Norwegian People’s Aid in Cambodia, at the CMAA office on Jan. 22.
According to the senior minister, the NPA’s key support focuses primarily on technical capacity building for Cambodia’s demining officers.
The CMAA’s first vice president encouraged NPA to continue supporting Cambodia and consider assisting the country’s preparation of the National Mine Action Policy expected to be completed late this year.
Mr. Hans Risser congratulated Cambodia on its success in chairing and hosting the Siem Reap-Angkor Summit and pledged to continue supporting CMAA’s capacity building, especially on data management systems and mine clearance quality control.
