H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, held a meeting with H.E. Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of the UN Tourism Organisation in Berlin, Germany on Mar. 5.
The discussion was aimed at strengthening tourism cooperation between Cambodia and UN Tourism, according to the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism.
During the meeting, the minister requested UN Tourism to help promote Cambodia’s tourism destinations on the international stage, leveraging UN Tourism’s extensive network of influential members and partners to increase awareness and attract more visitors to the Kingdom.
Additionally, Cambodia sought UN Tourism’s support in sharing data on tourism trends, market demands, and visitor preferences.
Furthermore, H.E. Huot Hak requested UN Tourism to share expertise and provide guidance for the Ministry of Tourism in developing a policy on “Best Tourism Villages” across various provinces and cities.
This initiative aims to diversify tourism products, especially in rural and remote areas, to enhance Cambodia’s appeal as a travel destination.
H.E. Huot Hak led a high-ranking delegation to attend the International Tourismus Börse (ITB Berlin) 2025 from Mar. 3 to 5 in Berlin, Germany.
Cambodia’s participation in the event aimed to promote the “Cambodia: The Kingdom of Wonder – Warm, Safe, Clean, and Green” campaign to the German and global markets.
