Online Tax Services Enhanced to Simplify Registration and Payment Processes


The General Department of Taxation (GDT) has transformed paper-based taxation process to full online system, simplifying registration and payment processes for taxpayers.

H.E. Kong Vibol, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister and GDT Director General, made the remarks at a seminar on Annual Tax on Income Obligations and Updates on Taxation Laws and Regulations, held here on Mar. 17.

The seminar was attended by Oknha Kith Meng, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Coordinating Committee for the Private Sector of the Government-Private Sector Forum (G-PSF), GDT’s officials, and members of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce.

The online system eliminates the need for physical visits of taxpayers to tax branches, just access the system for tax services, he said.

“Taxpayers can now complete procedures conveniently through the GDT app, ensuring legal compliance and fulfilling their tax obligations,” H.E. Kong Vibol underlined.

He emphasised that in the past, the GDT received tax payments only at tax branches and tax administrations, but now tax payments can be made through partnered banking system.

E-filing and income tax are new tasks in the reform of public finance related to tax work to strengthen the tax culture to be effective and transparent with quality, towards development in all sectors, he added.

He asked all company-enterprise owners and taxpayers to fulfill their obligations and cooperate in paying taxes in full.

Paying taxes is a contribution to the Royal Government in developing the basis for building various infrastructures,” he said.

Oknha Kith Meng commended the GDT’s digital transformation in tax collection, noting that the GDT serves as a model for collaboration between the Royal Government and the private sector.

He urged business entities to actively engage with tax policies and regulations to ensure an efficient and transparent tax system that supports national development.
