Cambodia, Vietnam Foster Bilateral Economic, Trade, and Investment Cooperation


H.E Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam held a bilateral meeting on April 28 in Hanoi.

In the meeting, both sides discussed and exchanged views on mechanisms to further enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of economy, trade, and investment, on the basis of good cooperation and mutual benefits, with the aim of promoting trade and fostering economic growth between the two countries.

Both sides agreed to further implement the existing mechanisms within bilateral, ASEAN and multilateral frameworks more effectively, especially by optimising the utilisation of the regional economic integration through the ASEAN, ASEAN+1 FTA, RCEP and cooperation under the World Trade Organisation.

On the occasion, with the permission from the leaders of two countries, both sides also signed the Arrangement on Bilateral Trade Enhancement between the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam 2025-2026, which would significantly contribute to achieving the trade target set by the leaders of the two countries.
