Samdech Techo Hun Sen Recommends Amending CVA Statute to Include All Retirees

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and President of the Cambodian Veterans Association (CVA), received here at the January 7 Palace this morning a delegation of the CVA led by Senior Minister H.E. Kun Kim, CVA Vice President and Secretary General.

According to H.E. Chea Thirith, Spokesperson for the Senate, the meeting aimed to address current challenges faced by the association and to discuss its future strategic direction.

On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen recommended amending the CVA’s statute to broaden its membership to include all retirees, including both civil servants and members of the armed forces. He emphasised that this change would allow the association to better support and manage the needs of general retirees, rather than focusing solely on military veterans as in the past.

He also raised the possibility of renaming the association to reflect its expanded scope in representing both civil service and military retirees.

In addition, Samdech Techo Hun Sen advised the CVA to establish official social media channels—such as Facebook, Telegram, YouTube, TikTok, and others—to promote the association’s activities and achievements, as well as to share stories and updates about Cambodian veterans.
