NIDIR Hosts Training Course on “International Law of Cyber Operations”

The National Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations (NIDIR) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC), in collaboration with Cyber Law International of Australia, is organising an executive course on “International Law of Cyber Operations” to strengthen national capacity on cybersecurity.

The five-day course was opened on June 2 under the presidency of H.E. Dr. Khy Sovanratana, Secretary of State at the MFAIC, along with Ms. Bridget Collier, Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy to Cambodia, representing the Australian side.

According to the MFAIC, the training course, conducted from June 2 to 6, was attended by 25 officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, and Ministry of Information.

The objective of the training is to strengthen national capacity and promote international cooperation on cyber-related issues — an essential strategy for enhancing Cambodia’s legal framework and fostering regional and global dialogue, especially as the country is drafting laws on cybercrime and cybersecurity, pointed out the source.
