Tourism Minister Urges South Korea’s Asiana Airlines to Expand Direct Flights to Cambodia

Cambodia has urged South Korea’s Asiana Airlines to increase direct flights to Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk provinces in an effort to strengthen tourism cooperation and provide more convenient travel options for visitors from both countries.

The request was made by H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, during a meeting last week in Seoul with Mr. Park Jongman, Vice CEO and Head of Passenger Affairs at Asiana Airlines. The meeting focused on enhancing tourism ties between Cambodia and South Korea, according to a news release issued by the Ministry of Tourism on Monday.

During the discussion, H.E. Huot Hak praised Asiana Airlines for its role in providing safe and reliable air travel between the two countries. He called for greater support and an expansion of direct flight routes to Cambodia’s key tourist destinations—Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk provinces—aimed at facilitating travel for Korean tourists, international visitors, and potential investors.

According to the Ministry’s report, Cambodia received 6.7 million international tourists in 2024, marking a 22.9 percent increase compared to 2023. Among them, 192,305 were from South Korea.
