An official invitation has been extended to the Thai side for the upcoming extraordinary meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC), scheduled to take place on Aug. 4, 2025, in Phnom Penh.

According to the Ministry of National Defence, the invitation was communicated through the Thai Defence and Army Attaché at the Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh.

The invitation letter, issued by H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, was addressed to H.E. Gen. Natthaphon Narkphanit, Acting Defence Minister of Thailand, requesting him to lead a senior delegation to attend the GBC meeting.

The GBC meeting is one of the three key outcomes agreed upon by Cambodia and Thailand during their special meeting in Malaysia on July 28, 2025, aimed at addressing the ongoing border clashes.
