DPM Prak Sokhonn Briefs Foreign Ambassadors and UN Representatives on Latest Developments of Cambodia-Thailand Border Clashes


H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and international Cooperation, chaired a briefing on the latest developments of Cambodian-Thai border conflict for 42 members of the diplomatic corps and 22 representatives of United Nations Agencies accredited to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

During the briefing held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation  on Aug. 21, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister underlined Cambodia’s firm commitment to upholding the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, reached on July 28, 2025 in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

The Cambodian top diplomat also briefed the meeting on the outcomes of Extraordinary Meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) between Cambodia and Thailand, held on Aug. 7 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

At the same time, H.E. Prak Sokhonn apprised the meeting of the landmine situation in Cambodia, especially along the Cambodian-Thai border area, reiterating Cambodia’s strong adherence to the Convention on the Prohibition of Anti-Personnel Mines (Ottawa Convention).

He also roughly touched on the upcoming field visit to Banteay Meanchey and Oddar Meanchey provinces, scheduled on Aug. 22-23.
