The extraordinary meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) between Cambodia’s 5th Military Region and Thailand’s 1st Army Area was held this morning in the Thai province of Sa Kaeo.
The Cambodian delegation was led by Lieutenant General Ek Sam Aun, Commander of the 5th Military Region and Co-Chairman of the extraordinary RBC meeting. The Thai delegation was led by Lieutenant General Amarit Boonsuya, Commander of the 1st Army Area and Co-Chairman of the extraordinary RBC meeting.
According to the Ministry of National Defence, the extraordinary RBC meeting successfully concluded at 11:15 a.m. on the same day. Both the Cambodian and Thai sides reaffirmed their strong commitment to implementing the ceasefire and the 13-point consensus, further strengthening bilateral relations, and restoring normalcy in the border areas.
The two sides also agreed to hold the next RBC meeting within one month of this extraordinary meeting or at a convenient time, with Cambodia serving as the host, it added.
