Interim Observer Team Conducts Field Mission to Border Villages

The Interim Observer Team (IOT) under the coordination of the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia carried out this morning a field mission to Chork Chey and Prey Chan villages in O’ Beichoan commune, O’ Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province.

H.E. Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman for the Ministry of National Defence, said the visit aimed to observe, verify, and report on the border situation following the recent enforcement of the ceasefire agreement.

The mission is part of a broader plan for continuous monitoring along sensitive areas of the Cambodia–Thailand border, she stressed, adding that the IOT will conduct frequent field visits throughout the week to assess security conditions, ensure stability, and support peaceful coexistence among residents in the affected communities.

Cambodia has reaffirmed its firm commitment to a peaceful resolution of the border conflict while upholding peace, defending national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and ensuring the safety of Cambodian citizens in the border region.
