DPM Tea Seiha Says Peace Deal with Thailand Reflects Cambodia’s Commitment to Peace

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha has shared his remarks on the Cambodia-Thailand Peace Deal signed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Oct. 26.

In a social media post this afternoon, H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha stated that the historic Cambodia-Thailand Peace Deal was formally signed by the leaders of both countries today, Oct. 26, 2025. This monumental achievement was initiated by the Special Meeting between Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Phumtham Wichayachai, Acting Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, held on July 28, 2025, in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

That meeting, hosted by Malaysia and co-organised by the United States, with the active participation of the People’s Republic of China, established the initial ceasefire and launched extensive subsequent discussions and implementation planning, he noted.

H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha underlined that the Peace Deal signifies a formal and broad conclusion to conflict, moving beyond a ceasefire. This document includes crucial provisions aimed at formally ending the conflict and rebuilding relations, covering key areas such as disarmament, the restoration of social relations, human rights protection, and establishing a clear path toward harmony and good bilateral relations.

“The dedicated efforts of the Cambodian leadership and the facilitation provided by all friendly countries have culminated in this definitive Peace Deal today,” he underlined. “This is the price of peace; it is what Cambodia has always valued the most.”
