Thai military forces have intensified their invasion into the Cambodian territory, by using heavy weaponry attacking multiple villages in Poipet city, Banteay Meanchey province.
According to the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia, between 6:08 a.m. and 7:15 a.m., Thai forces deployed F-16 fighter jets to carry out aerial bombardments, dropping up to 40 bombs on the Chouk Chey village area. These attacks caused extensive destruction to civilians’ homes, properties, and public infrastructure, demonstrating an exceptionally ruthless and inhumane use of military force.
Furthermore, between 9:59 a.m. and 10:53 a.m., Thai forces continued their aggression by firing six additional 155mm artillery shells into Stung Bot village, Sangkat Phsar Kandal, Poipet city.
The Ministry stated that these indiscriminate military attacks constitute grave acts of aggression and represent serious violations of international humanitarian law, particularly the principles of distinction and proportionality, as they deliberately endanger civilian lives and civilian infrastructure.
The Cambodian forces continue to monitor the situation closely, and stand strong, brave, and remain vigilant in fulfilling their roles to protect the territorial integrity of Cambodia, reaffirmed the Ministry.
