Cambodia, Indonesia Promote Education Cooperation

The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports and the Indonesian Embassy in Cambodia signed here on Dec. 30 a bilateral agreement on Indonesia’s scholarship programme to strengthen educational cooperation between the two countries.

The signing ceremony was held under the witness of H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, and Sport, and H.E. Santo Darmosumarto, Indonesian Ambassador to Cambodia.

The Indonesian AID Scholarship (TIAS) is part of Indonesia’s broader scholarship initiatives, specifically designed for working professionals to strengthen capacity and leadership development, the Ambassador added.

H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron expressed his high appreciation and profound gratitude to the Government of Indonesia for this cooperation, which serves as yet another new milestone in the longstanding and close relations between Cambodia and Indonesia.

Under the agreement, Cambodian civil servants and government-appointed personnel will be granted to pursue advanced studies in Indonesia.
