Cambodia and Japan Hold High-Level ODA Policy Dialogue


Senior officials from Cambodia and Japan convened a high-level policy dialogue on Official Development Assistance (ODA) here on Tuesday to review bilateral cooperation and discuss Japan’s strategic aid policy for the Kingdom.

The meeting was co-chaired by H.E. Chhieng Yanara, Senior Minister and Second Vice-President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), and H.E. UENO Atsushi, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia.

The dialogue brought together over 140 participants, including senior representatives from key Cambodian ministries and their counterparts from Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. Officials from the Japanese Embassy and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Cambodia Office also attended.

The primary agenda focused on assessing the progress of existing Japan-Cambodia development cooperation and examining Japan’s newly formulated Country Development Cooperation Policy for Cambodia, which guides future ODA priorities.
