H.E. Thor Chetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology of Cambodia, received here on Feb. 23 H.E. Mrs. Ülkü Kocaefe, Ambassador of Türkiye to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
In the meeting, H.E. Minister expressed appreciation for the enduring friendship and excellent cooperation between Cambodia and Türkiye. He noted that this partnership has contributed significantly to Cambodia’s socio-economic development.
H.E. Thor Chetha also briefed the Ambassador on the Ministry’s mission and priority policies, on sustainable water resource management and the rehabilitation of modern irrigation systems to ensure water security for daily use, agriculture, and industry.
He highlighted efforts to improve meteorological forecasting accuracy to mitigate risks from natural disasters and climate change.
The Minister also asked the Turkish side to deepen cooperation in the water development sector through the exchange of advanced technical expertise in transboundary water management, and the application of digital technology in irrigation systems.
