Acting Head of State Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has expressed strong support for expanding relations between Cambodia and Slovakia, particularly in the areas of economy, trade, and investment, describing them as key pillars of bilateral cooperation beyond diplomacy and politics.
The remarks were made during a courtesy call by H.E. Alexander Micovcin, newly appointed Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Cambodia, who presented his credentials to Samdech Techo Hun Sen at the Senate Palace on the morning of Mar. 19, according to Senate spokesperson H.E. Chea Thyrith.
During the meeting, Samdech Techo welcomed the new ambassador and expressed confidence that his diplomatic mission would further strengthen ties between the two countries. He also highlighted the upcoming 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year as an opportunity to deepen cooperation and celebrate the longstanding partnership.
For his part, Ambassador Micovcin reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the already positive relations between Cambodia and Slovakia. He underscored his intention to promote stronger cooperation in trade, economic development, business, and investment during his tenure.
Samdech Techo reiterated his support for these priorities, noting that economic and trade cooperation are central to advancing bilateral relations. He also praised the continued collaboration between the foreign ministries of both countries, including their mutual support in international forums and ongoing efforts to strengthen political and diplomatic ties.
