Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to the principles of the United Nations Charter and the peaceful settlement of disputes during a High-Level Open Debate of the United Nations Security Council on May 26.
Delivering Cambodia’s national statement at the debate, held at UN Headquarters, H.E. Prak Sokhonn stressed that territorial integrity and the peaceful resolution of disputes must remain the foundation of the international order amid growing global instability, armed conflicts, and geopolitical tensions.
Drawing on Cambodia’s own historical experience, the Deputy Prime Minister underlined that disputes should be resolved exclusively through dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to international law.
He reaffirmed Cambodia’s unwavering support for the UN Charter and the principles of peaceful coexistence and international cooperation.
Before concluding his statement, H.E. Prak Sokhonn expressed Cambodia’s sincere appreciation to the international community for supporting the ceasefire and peaceful settlement efforts regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict.
