Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has encouraged provinces across the country to continue investing in public infrastructure and improving local attractions to draw both international and domestic tourists.
“Don’t think only about what we are doing to attract international tourists; we should also think about local tourists in the region. We should think about attracting everyone,” he said while presiding over the inauguration of various achievements in Stung Treng province, northeastern Cambodia, on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister said the Royal Government is currently encouraging provincial and capital administrations to develop more infrastructure and improve public spaces and tourist attractions, while city, district, and khan administrations will also be encouraged to enhance their local tourism potential in the future.
He emphasised that attractive landscapes and well-developed public spaces are important factors in attracting both national and international tourists.
Samdech Thipadei stressed that development and infrastructure construction must continue, while maintaining peace, security, and public order is equally important to support tourism and socio-economic development.
“The development must continue, and what has been achieved in Stung Treng province today is a testament to the Royal Government’s commitment to overall development, whether in the eastern region or any other region,” he underlined.
At the same time, Samdech Thipadei called on all competent authorities to stay away from illegal and grey economic activities and to ensure a safe and orderly environment for the people and visitors.
