Cambodia, JICA Continue Discussion on Logistics Improvement

Cambodia and the Japan International Cooperation (JICA) have reviewed its 8th monthly Cambodia’s logistics system improvement project progress.

The meeting took place on Mar. 15 with the participation of H.E. Ms. Koy Sodany, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the project’s working group and technical team from JICA.

The meeting also aimed to draw up action plans, and identify challenges for the logistics sector and cross border transport.

H.E. Ms. Koy Sodany highlighted the progress and challenges related to Bavet and Stung Bot international border gates, and requested JICA to continue its technical assistance for next year to address the emerging issues.

It was agreed that the Cambodian team will work with the Vietnamese counterpart to expand the road in Buffer Zone to ease border transport between the two neighbours at Bavet international border gate.
