World Bank Continues Promoting Cambodian Rural Community’s Economic Development


An agreement for an additional financing under the Cambodia Agricultural Sector Diversification Project (CASDP) has been signed between the project team and the Stung Trang Senchey Agricultural Community.

The signing ceremony took place on April 6 in Kampong Cham province under the presidency of H.E. Veng Sakhon, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Ms. Maryam Salim, Country Manager of the World Bank (WB) for Cambodia.

Ms. Maryam Salim reaffirmed the WB’s mission to improve Cambodian people’s living conditions in the context of COVID-19 through the agricultural sector improvement.

It includes the promotion of production chain value, processing, agribusiness, market opportunity and beyond through the cooperation with the private sector.

H.E. Veng Sakhon spoke highly of the good cooperation between the coordination units of CASDP and concerned ministries and institutions, adding that the WB’s financing will further contribute to enhancing agricultural community development.

The minister was positive that Stung Trang Senchey community will continue to develop through extension of the project.
