The two-way trade between Cambodia and the neighbouring Vietnam is expected to reach more than US$10 billion by the end of this year.
The figure was raised this morning by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, while he and his Vietnamese counterpart H.E. Pham Minh Chinh were presiding over the 45h Remembrance Day of “Journey to Overthrow the Pol Pot Genocidal Regime” in Koh Thmar village, Tonloung commune, Memut district, Thbong Khmum province.
For the first five months of this year, the trade exchange between the two nations was recorded at over US$5 billion, pointed out the Cambodian Premier, recalling that last year, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the bilateral trade was valued at some US$9 billion.
Cambodia’s main products exported to Vietnam are agricultural products – rice, cashew nut, rubber, vegetables and iron and steel scraps – while the imported products are iron and steel, oil and gas, apparel and footwear materials.
