Cambodia, Türkiye to Extend Cooperation to More Potential Areas


The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Türkiye will strengthen the already-signed cooperation agreements and expand their bilateral cooperation to many other potential sectors.

The agreement was made during the meeting here this morning between Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and visiting H.E. Vahit Kirisci, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Türkiye.

According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Personal Assistant to the Premier, the potential areas for Cambodia- Türkiye cooperation include agriculture, agricultural processing for export, aquaculture, agricultural machinery, construction, IT, food processing and halal food, education, direct flight, and beyond.

H.E. Vahit Kirisci was positive that with the expansion of cooperation between the two countries, the bilateral trade volume will reach US$1,000 million a year.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen asked the Turkish side to encourage investors to invest in processing in Cambodia by creating a network to purchase produce from Cambodian farmers, building storage facility and processing for export to Türkiye and other countries.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister recommended both sides to consider the double taxation agreement to encourage more investors.
