Cambodia, Thailand Satisfy Gradual Progress in Bilateral Relation and Cooperation


Cambodia and Thailand expressed their satisfactions with progressively advancement in bilateral relation and cooperation, mainly in the areas of economy and investment by maintaining the growth of bilateral exchange of trade, investment and tourism sector in particular between both countries.

The expression was made by Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of Senate of Cambodia, while receiving a courtesy call from H.E. Cherdkiat ATTHAKOR, Thai Ambassador to Cambodia, at Senate Palace this morning.

Samdech Say Chhum attributed the progress to the exchange of visits by top leaders, senior leaders, leaders at ministries and institutions, along with continuous people-to-people exchanges and mutual support in cooperation framework.

The Cambodian President of Senate further commended healthy bilateral relation and cooperation between the Senate of Cambodia and the Senate of Thailand through the establishment of Cambodia-Thailand Parliamentary Friendship Group, the exchange of visits, mutual support at multilateral forums within Inter-Parliamentary Framework such as AIPA, APF, ASEP, IPU, and the like.

Samdech Say Chhum also continued that the Senate of Cambodia has always been ready to work closely with the Thai Ambassador and Embassy of Thailand in Cambodia to contribute to strengthening and expanding the ties of friendship and bilateral relation and cooperation between people of both countries to be better and better.

For his part, H.E. Cherdkiat ATTHAKOR mentioned about reopening Cambodia-Thailand international border gates to facilitate people-to-people travel, especially the resumption of cross-border trade, adding that the exchange of trade and investment and people-to-people contact between the two countries would further be strengthened in coming years.

H.E. Cherdkiat ATTHAKOR pledged to do his best during his diplomatic mission in Cambodia to attain more new achievements in contribution to enriching relation, friendship and cooperation between Parliament, the Government, and people of both countries to the next level.

On the occasion, the Thai Ambassador also spoke highly of key roles of Senates of both countries in the enhancement of bilateral relation and cooperation in the legislatures of both countries.
