Cambodian PM Receives Newly-Appointed Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Ueno Atsushi


Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received here this morning a courtesy call from H.E. Ueno Atsushi, newly appointed Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia, at the Peace Palace this morning.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen congratulated H.E. Ueno Atsushi for his new appointment as the Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, and appreciated blossoming bilateral relation and cooperation between Cambodia and Japan.

On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen mentioned about the assistance of Japan to the hosting process of short coming 32nd SEA Games and 12th ASEAN Para Games of Cambodia, through the encouragement and attraction of Japanese visitors, as well as arrangement of direct or charter flights from Japan to Cambodia.

The Cambodian premier also requested H.E. Ueno Atsushi to advance bilateral trade volume between both countries, and inspire and charm more Japanese businessmen and investors to do business and invest in areas of trade and investment in Cambodia as the Kingdom has favorable business environment and rich natural resources.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen further thanked the new Japanese ambassador for his condolence on the passing of his sister-in-law.

For his part, H.E. Ueno Atsushi praised Cambodia for her remarkably rapid development with full peace of the Royal Government of Cambodia, compared to his first visit in Cambodia in 1992. H.E. Ueno Atsushi were also committed to further strengthening bilateral relation and cooperation of both nations, pledging to encourage and attract more Japanese investors and tourists to invest and visit Cambodia, respectively, support Cambodia in hosting 32nd SEA Games, 7th National Assembly election in July, mine clearance, bilateral cooperation in economy, and other tasks.

Taking the opportunity, the Japanese ambassador expressed his congratulation to Cambodia on successful host of the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits in 2022.
