Cambodian PM Visits Lao PDR to Further Deepen Comprehensive and Long-lasting Strategic Partnership


Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, led a high-level delegation to pay an official visit to the Lao PDR on Feb. 13-14, at the invitation of his Lao counterpart H.E. Sonexay SIPHANDONE.

The delegation was seen off at Phnom Penh International Airport by H.E. Bin Chhin, Standing Deputy Prime Minister, Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers and many other senior government officials.

According to a press release of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during the visit, Samdech Techo Prime Minister will pay separate courtesy calls on H.E. Dr. Thongloun SISOULITH, President of the Lao PDR, and H.E. Dr. Xaysomphone PHOMVIHANE, President of the National Assembly of the Lao PDR, as well as receive a courtesy call by the President of Lao-Cambodian Friendship Association.

Samdech Techo Prime Minister will hold a bilateral meeting with his Laotian counterpart H.E. Sonexay SIPHANDONE to discuss how to further enhance bilateral cooperation in all fields, including political-security and socio-economic topics, and exchange views on sub-regional, regional and international issues of common interest and concern.

Following the dialogue, the two Prime Ministers will sign the “Action Plan for the Comprehensive and Long-Lasting Strategic Partnership between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic for the year 2023-2027.”

The Cambodian high-level delegation includes Samdech Krolahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior; Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence; and H.E. Mrs. Mèn Sam An, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Senate-National Assembly Relations and Inspection; as well as other senior officials and business leaders.
