Japan to Offer Grant to Expand Water Supply System in Svay Rieng


The Japanese government will further support the expansion of water supply system in Svay Rieng, an eastern province of Cambodia.

The Exchange of Notes on the extension of Japanese Grant Aid at the amount of JPY 3,986,000,000 (approximately US$30,600,000) for a development cooperation project in favour of the expansion of water supply system in Svay Rieng will sign on Feb. 24, 2023 by H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and the visiting State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, H.E.TAKEI Shunsuke.

The above-mentioned Exchange of Notes is an amendment to the amount stated in the previous Exchange of Notes signed on  Mar. 2, 2022.

The said generous gesture of the Government of Japan will significantly contribute to the Royal Government of Cambodia’s ongoing socio-economic development endeavours, and the further deepening of the existing excellent relations and thriving across-the-board cooperation between the two nations, which are this year celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
