Prime Minister Inaugurates Court of Justice’s New Building


Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on Monday presided over the official inauguration ceremony of a new building of the Court of Justice of the Ministry of Justice.

Speaking at the ceremony, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that the new facilities will provide and facilitate the court hearing process of the Phnom Penh municipal court and appeal court.

“The Court of Justice’s new building will enable the hearings of Phnom Penh court and appeal court, to expedite the court cases’ proceedings to be more quickly, accurately and fairly, to avoid court case congestion and delays,” the Prime Minister said.

Legal and judicial reform is a priority in the Royal Government of Cambodia’s political agenda aiming at promoting good governance and the rule of law for governing the state in accordance with the principles of the Constitution, he undelined.

Related to court hearings, the Premier encouraged negotiations and conciliation, which are effective way to resolve disputes, with no winners, no losers, and ensures social harmony.

Constructed at a total cost of US$14.6 million, the new building of the Court of Justice is located in Sangkat Prek Tasek, Khan Chroy Changvar, Phnom Penh.
