Samdech Techo Hun Sen Praises China’s Contribution to Cambodia’s Socio-economic Development


Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King, has spoken highly of the key role of China in the socio-economic development of Cambodia, which contributes to the strengthening of the Kingdom’s independence.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), made the point in a meeting with visiting H.E. Ms. Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairperson of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, at the January 7 Palace in Phnom Penh this afternoon.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also thanked the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China for the congratulatory message to the CPP on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Cambodia’s Independence Day on Nov. 9.

H.E. Ms. Shen Yueyue told Samdech Techo Hun Sen of her visit to Cambodia, the purpose of which is to further boost the implementation of practical cooperation in building a high-quality, high-level and high-standard Cambodia-China Community of Common Destiny in the new era.

She reaffirmed China’s continued support for the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet to ensure economic growth and bring about more progress to the nation and people.

In the context of complex international politics, Cambodia and China are committed to continuing to support each other to maintain peace, stability, development and deepen people-to-people ties. As the ironclad friends, both sides stressed that the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement continues to play an important role in building a Community of Common Destiny in line with their respective countries’ development paths.

The two parties pledged to further enhance the fruitful achievements of the “Industrial and Technological Corridor” and the “Fish and Rice Corridor” under the diamond cooperation agreed upon by the two countries’ leaders.
