Phnom Penh Governor on Dec. 11 received a delegation led by Mr. Lu Yan, Vice Chair of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference for discussion on cooperation expansion.
According to Mr. Lu Yan, Phnom Penh and Beijing have been allies for about five years, and the meeting will pave the way to further strengthen the collaboration between the two cities.
The Phnom Penh Governor, H.E. Khuong Sreng, noted that the sisterhood alliance between the two cities has contributed to promoting more Chinese tourists to Phnom Penh as well as Cambodia at large.
The two sides also discussed the establishment of a joint formal media platform for information exchange, and H.E. Khuong Sreng was positive that the mechanism would further attract more Chinese to Cambodia.
Mr. Lu Yan invited a delegation from the Phnom Penh capital hall for an official exposure visit to Beijing focusing on security, trade, and tourism.
