Indonesian Ambassador Requests Preah Sihanouk’s Support for Indonesia’s Election


The Indonesian Ambassador vowed to bring in more Indonesian investors to Preah Sihanouk and requested that the provincial authority support its three overseas polling stations in the province.

H.E. Santo Darmosumarto, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Cambodia, made the points when received by Preah Sihanouk Provincial Governor H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun on Dec. 11. at the provincial hall.

The ambassador thanked Preah Sihanouk Provincial Hall for its good facilitation for around 20,000 to 25,000 Indonesians working in the province.

Towards Indonesia’s national election in February 2024, he sought the provincial administration’s support to set up three overseas polling stations in Sihanoukville so that the Indonesians there could join the voting.

He added that Sihanoukville is a priority investment target for Indonesian investors, and he was committed to attracting more investments and tourists from Indonesia to Cambodia during his mission in Cambodia.

H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun accepted the request and looked forward to fully supporting the polling station arrangement, and he also updated the diplomat on the support services his province provided to Indonesian workers and tourists.

He trusted that the Indonesian ambassador would be able to bring in more investment and tourists to the province.
