To effectively crack down on illicit drug trafficking and all crimes, Cambodia has to single out any drug addicts among all kinds of competent forces, said Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet in a speech this afternoon.
Making the armed forces clean of illicit drug problems must be the first step to ensuring the success of the campaign against the harmful substances because they are all law enforcers, he underscored.
Samdech Thipadei Hum Manet said any staff members at the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of National Defence, including police and armed forces, who are addicts must be terminated from their positions.
So far, more than 100 armed personnel have been sacked from their positions because they were drug addicts.
He also called on all law enforcement officers to strictly carry out their jobs.
