Cambodian PM Received in a Royal Audience by Malaysian King


Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet was received in a royal audience by His Majesty Yang Di-Pertuan Agong XVII Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, King of Malaysia at the Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur on the afternoon of Feb. 27, as part of his day-long official visit to Malaysia.

Samdech Thipadei conveyed greetings from His Majesty the King of Cambodia to His Majesty the King of Malaysia, and briefed the Malaysian monarch on the outcome of his bilateral meeting with his Malaysian counterpart H.E. Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, adding that two sides discussed ways to strengthen and expand cooperation in a wide range of areas, including trade, economy, tourism, agriculture, defence and security, and education between the two countries.

The Cambodian Premier also touched on political atmosphere in Cambodia, especially the recent 5th Senate Election.

For his part, His Majesty Yang Di-Pertuan Agong XVII Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar expressed his warm welcome to the high-level Cambodian delegation and extended, via Samdech Thipadei, his greetings to His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni and Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The Malaysian monarch also expressed his pleasure with the development of relations and cooperation between Malaysia and Cambodia.
