Cambodia, Vietnam Committed for Continued Effective Cooperation


Cambodia and Vietnam have reaffirmed the value of their cooperation and are committed to furthering their cooperation and implementing existing agreements more effectively to serve the interests of both countries and peoples.

The commitment was made during the meeting in Hanoi, Vietnam this morning between Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and H.E. Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam.

The two sides also praised the cooperation between both countries’ legislative bodies by speaking highly of the inter-institutional cooperation and the exchange of experience in elaborating laws, as well as the cooperation within the framework of specialised committees and General Secretariats of the two countries’ National Assemblies and Senates.

Moreover, the two sides expressed their support for the fruitful results achieved through high-level cooperation between the two parties, as well as the two legislative bodies, and in parliamentary diplomatic and multilateral forums.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen arrived in Hanoi on the morning of July 25 to pay his last respects to late H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee, who passed away on July 19 at the age of 80 years old.
