Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet met with His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, this afternoon in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on the sidelines of the 46th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits.
During the meeting, the Crown Prince expressed Kuwait’s desire to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation with Cambodia. He also conveyed Kuwait’s readiness to share its experience in the energy sector, particularly in oil.
His Highness emphasised the importance of continued high-level exchanges as a means to pave the way for deeper cooperation.
In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed Kuwait’s intention to enhance the friendship between the two nations, stressing that this aligns with the Royal Government of Cambodia’s policy to strengthen and expand ties with countries in the Middle East, including Kuwait, by promoting collaboration in areas such as trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
The Cambodian Premier also supported the continuation of high-level engagements and proposed the establishment of a bilateral consultation mechanism between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs to review ongoing cooperation and explore potential areas of cooperation.
