Competition to Promote Vegetable, Fruit, and Grain Snack Processing Lanuched

The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI) on Tuesday launched the “Cambodia Business Incubation for Food Product Development” under the theme “Processing Snacks from Vegetables, Fruits and Grains,” aiming to inspire innovation and entrepreneurship in the food sector.

The competition encourages university students studying food science and related fields to innovate and turn their ideas into high-quality, market-ready snack products, MISTI pointed out.

“Through this competition, MISTI aims to foster human resource development and innovation within the food processing sector and offers student groups the opportunity to sharpen their entrepreneurial skills and contribute to society by utilising local raw materials to generate added value for the economy,” said H.E. Nhim Khemara, Permanent Secretary of State of MISTI.

According to MISTI, supported by the Chinese government through the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation framework, the programme aligns with Cambodia’s efforts to strengthen agro-industrial value chains and promote inclusive, sustainable economic growth.
