National and international experts are gathering in the 40th Technical Session of the International Coordinating Committee for the Safeguarding and Development of the Historic Sites of Angkor and Sambor Prei Kuk (ICC-Angkor/Sambor Prei Kuk) in Siem Reap province on June 19-20, 2025.
This important meeting, presided over by H.E. Dr. PHOEURNG Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts and President of the Board of APSARA National Authority, is co-chaired by Mr. NAGASE Kensuke, Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission of Japan, and Mr. Pierre VINCENT, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs of France.
According to the APSARA National Authority, during this session, a consortium of national and international experts will review, discuss, and monitor efforts related to the protection, restoration, and conservation of numerous ancient temples located within the Angkor and Sambor Prei Kuk sites.
Before the formal meeting, a team of experts in the field of conservation and sustainable development visited several sites in the Angkor and Sambor Prei Kuk sites to monitor, review, and recommend the work following general principles in the Angkor Charter.
