H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Under Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, stated today that while the overall border situation remains calm—particularly in Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey provinces—the Anseh area is under strict monitoring by Cambodian forces.

“From 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Aug. 6, 2025, the general situation along the border in Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey provinces remained calm. Our armed forces remain strong and fully vigilant in fulfilling their duties,” she said during a regular press briefing at 11:00 a.m.

Regarding the Anseh area, the spokesperson noted that it is under heightened surveillance to reinforce the spirit and terms of the ceasefire agreement, which Cambodia continues to uphold with full responsibility.

At the same time, H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata reaffirmed that Cambodian forces fully support the Royal Government’s position to resolve the border conflict through international law and peaceful means.

“Cambodia aspires to have borders of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development with all neighbouring countries, while remaining unwavering in our commitment to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity,” she reiterated.
