In a heartfelt tribute to Cambodia’s armed forces, H.E. Prof. Chheang Ra, Minister of Health, commended the bravery and sacrifices of soldiers in defending the nation’s sovereignty.
Speaking during an inspection visit to Calmette Hospital in Phnom Penh on August 5, the Minister lauded their unwavering commitment and reaffirmed the Royal Government’s dedication to strengthening medical care for wounded personnel.
Accompanied by senior health officials, H.E. Prof. Chheang Ra assessed the treatment and rehabilitation services provided to injured soldiers, acknowledging the exceptional efforts of hospital leadership, multidisciplinary specialists, and medical staff in delivering high-quality care.
“The courage and patriotism of our soldiers on the frontlines embody the strength of Cambodia’s armed forces and the unity of our people,” the Minister stated, emphasising that their sacrifices in protecting the nation’s territorial integrity deserve the utmost recognition and support.
Beyond the inspection, the Minister convened a technical meeting with specialist physicians to refine diagnostic protocols and treatment strategies, ensuring optimal recovery outcomes. Highlighting the need for systemic improvements, he called for a transformative approach in healthcare delivery—not only for wounded soldiers but also for displaced civilians affected by conflict.
Key priorities include enhancing emergency medical responses, expanding mental and physical rehabilitation services, and ensuring comprehensive follow-up care.
The Minister concluded with a personal message of solidarity, wishing the soldiers a swift and full recovery while reaffirming the nation’s gratitude for their service.
