Direct Flight from Istanbul to Phnom Penh to Boost International Travel to Cambodia

A new direct flight connecting Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye, to Techo International Airport of Cambodia will soon be launched. The route is expected to significantly increase the number of international passengers and tourists visiting Cambodia, as Turkish Airlines serves more than 350 destinations across 130 countries worldwide.

The optimism was made by H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism of Cambodia, during a meeting here yesterday afternoon with H.E. Mrs. Ülkü KOCAEFE, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Cambodia. The Ambassador was accompanied by a delegation from Turkish Airlines, led by Mr. UMIT Develi, Vice President.

The Minister expressed high appreciation for the continued cooperation and support of the Embassy of Türkiye and Turkish Airlines, which recognise Cambodia’s strong tourism potential. He underlined that Cambodia, as an emerging market, is benefiting from peace, stability, and the long-term vision of the Royal Government, particularly the development of the state-of-the-art Techo International Airport, a landmark national achievement.

Turkish Airlines will begin operating regular flights between Istanbul, Türkiye’s largest city, and Phnom Penh on Dec. 12, 2025. With this addition, Cambodia will become the seventh country in Southeast Asia served by Turkish Airlines, and Phnom Penh the eleventh city in the region.
