Samdech Kitti Sangahapundit Men Sam An, President of the Cambodian Women’s Association for Peace and Development, has delivered humanitarian aid to the administration of Stung Treng province to support frontline forces and civilians displaced by the ongoing conflict.
The assistance was handed over on Dec. 23 afternoon and was intended to help troops stationed along the front lines as well as residents forced to flee their homes.
The donation included two tonnes of rice, roasted rice flakes, instant noodles, bottled water, fruit juice, energy drinks, clothing, gas masks, protective goggles, food supplies and a cash contribution of 10 million Riel (US$2,500).
Stung Treng provincial Governor H.E. Sar Putra thanked Samdech Men Sam A for the support and said the provincial administration would distribute the aid to priority groups, particularly displaced civilians and soldiers deployed in border areas.
Cambodian authorities have said the assistance forms part of broader efforts to support communities and security forces affected by the situation along the border.
