Another Civilian Killed in Thai Shelling of Cambodian Village


Thai forces intensified its aggressive and indiscriminate attacks on Cambodia, especially in Banteay Meanchey province, this morning, resulting in the death of an innocent civilian.

According to a news release of the Ministry of National Defence, at 8:41 a.m., the Thai military launched a shelling attack into Ta Lei village, Kok Romiet commune, Thmar Puok district, killing a civilian.

The civilian death toll now rose to 31 with some 90 injuries.

The Ministry described the action as “barbaric and indiscriminate,” representing a serious violation of international humanitarian law.

Cambodian forces, it reaffirmed, responded by maintaining defensive positions and engaging in sustained efforts to protect territorial integrity. They remain on high alert, closely monitoring the situation and continuing their defensive operations in accordance with their mandate to safeguard national sovereignty.
