Cambodia, Thailand Start Second Day of GBC Secretariat Meeting

The second day of the General Border Committee (GBC) Secretariat Meeting between Cambodia and Thailand commenced this morning, said H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman for the Ministry of National Defence.

The session began at 9:05 a.m. at the Prom-Pak Kard Permanent Border Checkpoint, located between Cambodia’s Pailin province and Thailand’s Chanthaburi province.

According to the Spokeswoman, the secretariat teams are continuing their discussions to ensure the cessation of hostilities and find solutions to restore stability between the two countries, as well as to facilitate a swift return to normalcy.

This secretariat-level meeting serves as the essential technical preparation for the upcoming 3rd Special Cambodia-Thailand GBC Meeting, scheduled for Dec. 27, to be co-chaired by the Defense Ministers of both countries.
