Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has welcomed a planned visit by a delegation from the Saudi Arabian Chamber of Commerce to Cambodia in 2026, describing it as a positive step toward strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in trade and investment.
The welcoming remarks were made during a courtesy call and farewell meeting with H.E. Mohammed Ismaeil A. Dahlwy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Cambodia, at the Senate Palace this morning.
During the meeting, Samdech Techo expressed appreciation for the ambassador’s diplomatic mission in Cambodia, noting his active role in promoting closer ties between the two countries. He highlighted the successful facilitation of his official visit to Saudi Arabia in 2024 as a reflection of the growing relationship between the two countries.
Ambassador Mohammed Ismaeil A. Dahlwy shared his fond memories of Cambodia and its people during his tenure. He praised Cambodia’s steady development and progress, expressing hope that the country will continue to emerge as a dynamic economy within the ASEAN region.
The outgoing diplomat also underscored the positive momentum in Cambodia-Saudi Arabia relations, particularly through reciprocal high-level visits, and confirmed that Saudi investors would travel to Cambodia in 2026 through the Saudi Arabian Chamber of Commerce to explore investment opportunities.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed the planned visit, stressing that enhanced trade and investment cooperation is a core objective of bilateral relations. He expressed confidence that increased exchanges between leaders, business communities, and peoples of the two countries would further strengthen ties and contribute to long-term cooperation and mutual prosperity.
