Samdech Men Sam An Presides Over Donation Ceremony for Displaced, Fallen Soldiers’ Families


Samdech Kitti Sangahapundit Men Sam An, Member of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King and Member of the National Assembly for Svay Rieng Constituency, presided over a ceremony to distribute charitable donations to displaced families and the families of fallen soldiers and police officers in Romeas Hek district, Svay Rieng province, on Thursday.

A total of 467 families each received a relief package containing 25kg of rice, a cooking pot, one carton of noodles, 20 eggs, a kit of essential items (including a blanket, scarf, sarong, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, body soap, and laundry detergent), and a cash donation.

The event was attended by H.E. Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts and Head of the Royal Government’s Working Group for Svay Rieng province, and H.E. Sok Soken, Minister of Inspection and Head of the Royal Government Working Group for Romeas Hek district, along with other senior officials.

In his address, Samdech Men Sam An expressed sympathy for those displaced from their homes and livelihoods due to what he described as “encroachment and invasion over the past 21 days.” He encouraged the people to remain united and to continue trusting in the leadership of the Royal Government under Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister, to defend territorial integrity and ensure peace and sustainable development.

She also extended gratitude to the nation’s soldiers for their sacrifices and to the people for their resilience and support.

Samdech Men Sam An commended H.E. Sok Soken and the working groups for their effective on-the-ground coordination and for mobilising the resources for the donation ceremony.
