MoEYS, ADB Foster Education Cooperation


The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have discussed ways to strengthen cooperation on education development in Cambodia.

The talks took place on Feb. 25 between H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, and Mr. Nianshan Zhang, Director General of the ADB’s Southeast Asia Regional Department, along with H.E. Ms. Yasmin Siddiqi, ADB Country Director for Cambodia.

During the meeting, ADB representatives underscored the strong cooperation between the two sides and emphasised their intention to further expand collaboration with the Ministry in the area of human resource development.

They also stated that ADB will continue to assist in addressing challenges and supporting the Ministry’s education reform strategy as well as the Royal Government’s national development agenda.

H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron highly appreciated the cooperation between the MoEYS and ADB, noting its positive impacts on society and the national economy through the enhancement of human capital.

He further highlighted the significance of ADB’s cooperation in contributing to the promotion of Cambodia’s education system reform in line with the Royal Government’s human resource development strategy.
